Benedicts, St Benedicts

Benedicts, St Benedicts

Let’s get fancy! We’re heading back down St Benedicts but to a very different place: the triple AA Rosette-awarded Benedicts restaurant. Despite a simple, stripped-back interior, the restaurant’s offering is anything but simple, with a team led by Great British Menu’s Richard Bainbridge creating a seasonal, local menu that takes familiar ingredients and makes them into something new and stunning.

The experience at Benedicts is fine dining and beautiful presentation without the stuffiness the term ‘fine dining’ brings to mind. The team champions local produce, while the front of house staff are warm and attentive. A meal there is as pricey as you want to make it, starting at two courses for £16 on the set lunch menu, rising to £61 for the eight course tasting menu – still reasonable for a tasting menu – and it’s worth every penny. For a weekend dinner, you’ll need to book a few months in advance as they understandably get booked up in advance.

Throughout 2018, the restaurant will host a selection of guest chefs, including Tom Kerridge and four other chef/owners of Michelin-starred restaurants from around the UK.
