The Little Red Roaster, central Norwich

It’s no secret that here at NorEats we’re suckers for a good coffee and a pastry. Throw in the words “locally sourced” and “homemade” and we’re 100% sold. And so it is with Little Red Roaster, the family of coffee shops that have some of the biggest croissants we’ve seen, in addition to an evolving seasonal menu.

The three shops around the city serve a rotating cast of single-origin coffees, alongside savoury and sweet dishes, including vegetarian options and non-dairy milks. As LRR is also one of the few coffee roasters in Norwich, you can buy beans to take home, too.

The shops are a welcome change to some of the younger coffee establishments springing up across the country. Although the team behind LRR are passionate about their coffee, having been in business for 15 years, the shops are warm and welcoming, without the sometimes pretentious atmosphere that coffee specialists are prone to having. The St Andrews Hill branch, at home among independent shops, is the latest addition to the family, having opened in 2014 in what used to be two shops and is now a colourful, intimate space to enjoy a cup of the good stuff.
