That sweet tooth is still in action! Today, one of the city’s cutest independent shops, and the home of that hot chocolate: Macarons & More. At the end of the Royal Arcade, M&M boasts, of course, a counter full of dainty macarons, with flavours changing with the seasons and animals popping up every now and then.
It’s been at home in the arcade, with those big curved windows, since 2013, a few years after former MasterChef contestant Tim Kinnaird left his job to launch the business, and has gone from strength to strength, placing as runner up place in the Best Independent Retailer category of The Observer Food Monthly Awards 2017. It’s not hard to see why: the shop’s treats are beautiful and delicious.
Recently, though, the shop’s name has been on the lips of Norwich’s shoppers for more than just its patisserie, with the spotlight instead on the smooth hot chocolate, topped with towering clouds of cream and extra sweet treats.
